Nobody wants to disappoint the kids this year, so here are a few suggestions and fabulous ideas for the best places to shop especially online.

Age groups are very relevant when looking for gifts. here are a few recommendations when looking for gifts.

  • Birth to three years: The first thing I'm going to say here is avoid the noisy gifts and this applies to children of all ages. They are great fun - for the first ten minutes. Their parents have to listen to them enjoying their new playthings and you want to maintain good friendships, so plan carefully.
  • Toddlers to pre teen children: These kids do not want a maths set, or study guides. They are a group that are increasingly aware of their desires in respect of posessions. Its always good to buy books and give book tokens, but I would always recommend seriously listening to their requests for gifts. Now if you live on the 12th floor of a high rise, that pony is just not going to happen for little Mary, but if she's really into ponies, anything from horese riding lessons to a barbie stable kit will go a long way to quenching that pony desire. A budding van Gogh may love an easel and some (washable) paints.
  • Teens and young adults This a group where books, dvds, cds and itunes vouchers go down a treat, but it is nevertheless very important to get it right. Ask what they're listening to, reading and what movies they're into - it is very dangerous just to assume. There is so much out there that each individual taste can be catered for and teens do not all like the same thing. Most of the nosiy things they fancy can usually be silenced by a set of headphones, so if youre going down the ipod, TV, HiFi route remember to stocking fill with headphones, or you'll regret it.
